Shipwrecks

The dark and rolling waves they sail and glide
With hearts a light with hope beneath the stars
A shadow looms where troubled waters bide
A sunken wreck, the ship ruined with sharp scars

The masts are shattered, sails in shambles--torn
The hull is crumbled, rust had claimed the wood
The winds that once did carry her tired and worn
And silence spoke their fate all understood

We draw her close, the ghost of ships long lost
And feel the weight of the stories left untold
What tales were buried, what lives had paid the cost
Now lost to the waves in silence to unfold

Waves claimed the wreck, yet leave it’s tale behind
A sailor’s fate, in tidal depths confined
